Derek Pace is an Automotive Aftermarket Electronics Professional and 20 year veteran in the business who is a highly skilled MECP Master Installation Technician with time spent in the prestigious Electrical Engineering Program at Northeastern University. His commitments to the 12 volt industry are notable and ongoing. As a motivated entrepreneur and technology enthusiast, Derek Pace embodies the spirit that accompanies prosperous endeavors and meaningful leadership. Derek is active with the CTA Vehicle Technology Division Board as the single representative of the independent car electronics retailer in the group. He also participates on the CTA Vehicle Technology Division Board Promotions Sub-Committee which focuses on consumer awareness for 12 volt aftermarket products and purchase consideration at www.drivingfun.org. Derek was elected to a 3 year term to the CTA Board Of Industry Leaders.
Derek is highly involved in the MECP certification program and serves as the co-chair of the MECP Committee. He is a MECP Master Installation Technician (multiple renewals) and an MECP Subject Matter Expert (SME) that voluntarily contributes to study materials and peer-based exam question reviews. Due to his unique location on the Hawaiian Islands, Derek is also an MECP Proctor to assist and supervise MECP test candidates in testing where an MECP test site is not otherwise available. Derek also holds ASE A6 (Automotive Electrical Systems) credentials.
Michael Fritsch is a 20 year installation veteran who has been with Derek Pace from day one. They worked together at Biztronics/Pacific Audio in the 90’s and moved on to work together out of their garage until opening Certified Sounds in 2002. Michael is also credited with coming up with the shop’s name “Certified Sounds.” Michael is known for his do it right attitude and meticulously clean wiring. Often even car dealerships can’t tell where the factory wiring ends and Michael’s wiring begins because it is so well integrated and hidden. He is the example of Certified Sounds’ perfectionist image and in often helps sets the standard that Certified Sounds follows. Michael is an avid music enthusiast and is an MECP Advanced Certified Technician.
Mason began installing at Certified Sounds in 2009 while he was still in high school. A self-described car enthusiast, Mason would come after school and learn basics and help clean up shop. After high school Mason attended Wyotech Automotive Training School in Sacramento, California to expand his knowledge and passion for the aftermarket automotive industry. While at Wyotech, Mason learned MIG and TIG welding, diagnosis and service of modern vehicle repairs, troubleshoot common automotive problems as well as becoming certified in AllData vehicle service manuals and automotive HVAC (Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning). Mason returned to Maui in 2013 to work at Certified Sounds. He is currently an MECP Basic Certified Technician and Owner Derek Pace’s protégé to assist in executing the high level of quality that Certified Sounds customers have come to expect.
